Tamar Mogendorff

Artist Tamar MorgendorffKindergallery presents Tamar Mogendorff, stitch extraordinaire! Born and raised in Israel, Tamar’s artistic instincts were encouraged by her highly creative family. She especially loved to make gifts by hand, crafting animals whose hand-stitched descendants make up her body of work today. Inspired by the advice of her grandmother Annie to pursue her artistic dreams, she moved to New York City, where she has lived and worked since 2001.

Tamar’s dolls are peerlessly beautiful and radiate extraordinary emotional power. They are hand-stitched from linens, mohair wool, cotton, vintage fabrics, tweed, antique embroidery, pashmina and other fabrics, and incorporate antique and vintage buttons, beads, silver thread and old ribbons. Kindergallery is honoured to offer, for the first time in Australia, an exclusive Tamar Mogendorff selection. The range includes bird and dovecages, which may be used as mobiles, as well as bird-houses and mushrooms, providing unique wall and room decoration possibilities.
