Prior to painting Lisa was teaching children, a career that allowed her to be creative and imaginative whilst teaching the children in her care. After having her own children, her love affair with painting began. Studying art whilst raising her children, Lisa found artists teaching short courses to learn from. Lisa’s whimsical style developed over the next few years.
As part of her continually developing style Lisa has created new works involving moulded resin art set on a framed metal background. These pieces are unique, colourful and structurally diverse creating individual original pieces of sculptured art.
“My inspirations continue to evolve however I do have a few core influences that will always have an effect on me. My children, my passion for colour, fabrics and ever changing fashion and design are a common thread through the span of my painting career, this keeps evolving and building. I like to source colours and ideas in different places and collate sketches of ideas throughout the year. Photos from holidays, gardens, the beach, colour snippets from magazines and pieces of fabrics combined with fabulous colours help inspire a story to put on to canvas. I have been painting now for many years, have entered and been successful in a number of exhibitions and am represented by a few high profile galleries across Australia.”
