Jane Donaldson is an Australian artist and writer; poet, thinker, gardener, mother and dreamer. Her richly coloured artworks are layers of enchanting narrative and play. Kindergallery is delighted to welcome Jane and showcase a selection of her beautiful paintings.
“The foremost influence in my work is my love of colour” says Jane. “I use a simplistic style to paint whimsical observations of human behaviour, relationships with the self and others, and the place we call home.” Most of Jane’s paintings draw inspiration from events or musings about her own life. They become autobiographical and introspective tales, enriched by her imagination and dreams.
Take a moment to read the wonderful little stories that accompany each of Jane’s paintings. They are bound to deepen your engagement with each piece, not to mention inspire interesting conversation!
