Ida Pearle was born and raised in New York City. During her college years, Ida followed her twin passions of visual art and music, studying fine arts, while performing and recording as a musician and designing album covers.
Towards the end of this period, she began making cut-paper collages as personalised gifts for friends. These collages developed into poetic vignettes, depicting situations in her friends’ lives and expressing them in a hopeful and magical light. Ida uses her thorough understanding of figure and gesture to create works which achieve a dream-like quality and, at the same time, realistic poignancy.
Kindergallery offers a range of three archival giclee prints by Ida Pearle. The works are prints of the original collages created by Ida using a selection of artist’s and specialty papers cut and glued by hand.
